KNPT AM began in 1948 and was originally owned by Tom Becker. Later, the station was owned by Frank Carmen. KYTE FM came into being in 1976. Carmen hired David Miller as General Manager in 1988. After Carmen's death in 1990, David Miller continued as General Manager for the Carmen family. Then, in the mid-90s, David Miller purchased KNPT and KYTE FM.

In the late 90s, David Miller purchased KCRF & KBCH and then added U92 to the Yaquina Bay Communications' stations lineup. As President and General Manager of Yaquina Bay Communications, David Miller, along with his staff,  work hard  to ensure Lincoln County has the best in music, news  and information.
